The J.Lanfranco 1-3/8”- 6 THU Self Locking Nut is a heavy-duty, full-height hex nut possessing self-locking technology. These lock nuts are made from grade 8 alloy steel and built for extreme performance in critical railroad applications such as railroad diamonds and turnouts. They are proven resistant to loosening regardless of the amount of vibration, shock or impact the THU endures.

The THU is a single-piece design requiring no inserts for installation. Locking torque applies evenly into a single plane on opposite sides of the nut creating a superior hold. The locking slots expand and grip onto the flanks of the bolt, keeping it locked tightly into position, even when subjected to very heavy train loads and high traffic. And, because the dual-locking slots function independently of bolt tension, they can be removed and reused as well.
