Celebrating 50 Years

IRS is celebrating our 50th Anniversary this year. Founded in 1966, Industry-Railway Suppliers, Inc. was established to service the needs of the railroads, railroad maintenance facilities, shortlines, and railroad contractors in the Eastern United States. In 1978 IRS opened an office and warehouse in Bensenville (Chicago), IL to service the western railroad industry. In 1988 IRS was acquired by Unity Railway Supply Co. Inc. In 1994, our headquarters were relocated from Cleveland, OH to the Bensenville, IL facility. In 2016 we relocated into a larger building in Elmhurst, IL to position the company for future growth.

We remain focused on our goal of meeting the railroad industry's needs by providing safe, high quality, cost effective products coupled with unrivaled customer service and field sales support. Our experienced staff is solely dedicated to meeting your needs supplying a full range of products for various railroad applications. We strive to take our customer's suggestions and turn them into reality. When applicable, all products are produced in accordance with AREMA specifications and or tailored to specific railroad customer needs. Industry-Railway Suppliers, Inc. distributes products to all Class I, Regionals, Shortlines, Locomotive & Car repair facilities, contractors, and transit systems. IRS is committed to meeting the needs of Engineering and Maintenance of Way departments in addition to Mechanical, Signal and Bridge departments across North America.

I'm extremely proud to be the president of Industry-Railway Suppliers, a fantastic company with a great legacy which all started in 1966. We've evolved so much over the last 50 years into what we are today, a diverse and innovative railroad supply company. Industry-Railway Suppliers vision is to continue to progress as the leading distributor of railroad related products. Together with our key suppliers and end-user partners we will strive to be the preferred supplier in all niche railroad segments while continuing to support our valued customers with superior service and satisfaction.
